Dear Friends,
Mind and Body are like an old grumpy couple, bickering all day, pointing the finger at each other. Mind accuses Body of being uncooperative, Body accuses mind of being inconsiderate. This morning, before Resentment had a chance to set up tent amongst conflicted parties once again, we left the house.
8:30 - Body woke up
8:32 - Body couldn't move right arm at all
10:30 - 2 hardboiled eggs and a dandelion tea later, a reluctant Mind followed Body to the doctor's office asking for cortisone
10:40 - a resigned Mind followed Body to the pharmacy, where Vanity took a glimpse of her new haircut in the mirror and decided she looked good
10:50 - Both Mind and Body agreed to follow Vanity around the mall
16:40 - Body returned home, carrying Vanity's new shoes (2 pairs), clutch and cardigan. Somehow Vanity had managed to persuade Mind that she needed to complete her elegant chop with new accessories. Gabriel, (her new hairdresser and BFF), had advised her to project "elegance." Mind had to chuckle; Vanity had always ran away from "elegant" which reminded her of her mother — conservative, boring.
17:00 - Body gobbled down the remaining of the cabbage soup and boiled chicken, vowing not to lift a finger till tomorrow.
I suppose it takes time to learn to honour one's body. Have you catered to your vanity lately?
