Honour Thy Body - Renaissance Project Seven-day Itch

Dear Friends,
Last night, we all went to bed loving each other. I thought, finally, Mind, Body and Vanity had learnt to coexist in harmony, letting me enjoy what I have — two months off from work, obligations and responsibilities. Thus, sleeping in was on top of my list. Alas!

8:15 - wheezing followed by coughing forced us out of bed
Apparently the "mind over body" concept doesn't work in this household.  My mind is too weak, my malaises, too stubborn. That one glass of red wine, last night, did us in. Body, determined to ruin our summer, was testing my patience!

9:35 - wheezing subsided, thanks to caffeine and steam room
12:00 - another piece of fish, another bowl of salad
14:00 - 45-minute massage with an unfamiliar masseuse, better than drilling a hole through the right shoulder blade
15:00 - beauty supply store
As we were all counting on well-pampered Vanity (facial, haircut, shopping) to pull us through the seven-day itch (remember last Saturday), she decided the "wet curls" looked good as long as they were wet!
15:35 - left the store with $$$ worth of hair styling products, to rectify the Einstein (crazy old lady) look
16:21 - a glass of Pinot Noir, a few anti-depressant Brazil nuts (selenium)
Letting a perfectly good wine go bad, is a sin! I poured myself a glass, hoping that Body had enough time to deal with tannin.
17:25 examined our recent purchases (sunglasses, custom jewellery) while sipping a second glass of wine
18:40 - realized being alone on a beautiful Saturday evening was asking for trouble; however Vanity wouldn't budge
Will we go for a third glass of wine, or a new bottle?  Your guess is as good as mine!

51 days left to try to enjoy dolce far niente
