Since cousins are visiting Niagara Falls today, I have a few hours to myself. Not always a good idea, since Vanity has already zeroed in on the hair!
8:35 - Body woke up a bit achy.
Sometimes I have to wonder whether my sons, one painfully shy, the other unemployed, plus a commanding daughter-in-law have something to do with the pain in my neck and shoulder.
8:37 - hair analysis:
-shiny, but too flat (still a bit brassy at the front)
-no more frizz, but no more curls either
Better than "first day" wild look? No!
Better than "everyday" Einstein look? Definitely!
Vanity has no choice but to live with this "inexpertly blow-dried" look, for a couple of months. Mind will not allow her to defy the purpose of having "relaxed" short hair by weekly visits to the hair salon!
15:00 - physiotherapy & sports clinic
Mind doesn't want Body to become addicted to the joys of cortisone shots.
18:17 - Mind remembers, one night, in my early forties, while trying to talk the room out of spinning around me, I made a promise to God, 'Please God, ' I begged, 'let me live through this night and I will never, ever drink this much, again.'
At the moment, all wrapped up in black kinesiology tape, I heard myself striking another deal, 'Please God, let my body go back to dancing, running, bending, stretching, lifting, twirling, and I promise to stop over-thinking, stressing and wining.'
42 days left to make permanent changes to our "already pretty good" life (in case God is reading)!
